Sunday

Hey, I think we should all meet in studio Sunday evening if possible so we can prepare as a class for the meeting with Dean Gaunt on Monday. How does after dinner sound? Maybe 7:30 or something? let me know.

Storage

Jason, Amy and Eman made a mock-up (quick and dirty) of a possible storage solution. Take a look either in person or at the photos on the project server/STORAGE.

We also looked at the 'draped acoust. baffle' idea. Pics posted on server/Ceiling group. Will leave up for now.

fire codes

Found out some general information about 214 Marvin in regards to fire codes. I'll post the most pertinent here in case this affects any other groups (which I'm sure that it does).
Mr. Rumbach of DCM filled me in on these facts:
The common wall next to the stairwell is a 2 hour fire rated assembly, which typically means double 5/8 next to metal studs. All other walls can be assumed as 1 hour fire rated. The doors are all 20 min fire rated with closers (for fires). The door adjacent to the studio is not needed for egress, and may in fact be removed.
There's also an issue about our occupancy which I'll just discuss in class.. it gets rather complicated. Post any comments/suggestions/whatever. Amy

photographs

i've posted new pics to the project server. they are of snow hallway just outside of our space and of marvin hall jury room. i apologize for the hallway pics as they are dark and not at good angles, but the hallway is really tight to photograph in. but they should suffice at least for now. let me know if there's anything else that needs to be done, either photo or survey related. thanks! amy

Code Information\Anthropometric data

I looked into what model code would apply to our little project. I believe that it is the IBC, which I posted to the project server. While this is an informed hunch I still need to verify with someone who knows for sure.

Additionally, I photocopied sheets from "THE MEASURE OF MAN AND WOMAN" which seems to be a reasonably complete source for anthropometric data. I am scanning these sheets and uploading them onto the project server.

Project name / Small Side Room

Have any 'names' for the project? Perhaps we could throw them in here... under individual comments?

When the purpose of the rooms are more defined...

I measured the small room to the side yesterday and will update the CAD dwg later today or tomorrow. j.
