Pin-up
Pin-Up Surfaces
1. Wall mounted.
· Can provide somewhat fixed lighting
· Have to still provide model stands
· Possible to provide shelving for models
· Could provide more of a fixed seating arrangement
· Problem disturbing the existing walls
· Mounting considerations, flush etc…
2. Panel Boards.
· Have to supply some type of rail system on wall
· Provide model stands
· Lighting can be somewhat fixed
· Less durable
· Size
3. On stands w/o wheels.
· Free up walls
· Flexible
· More seating options
· Could provide built-in model stand
· If heavy could be hard to move
· Lighting could be a problem
· Possible problem with drawings and model on same stand
· Size
4. On stands w/ wheels.
· Free up walls
· Flexible
· More seating options
· Could provide built-in model stand
· If heavy can still push easily
· Lighting could be a problem
· Possible problem with drawings and model on same stand
· Size
5. Hung panel on tracks
· Somewhat flexible
· Can provide somewhat fixed lighting
· Could use as a wall separation also
· Model stands still an issue
· Solidness of panel
· Track could be difficult to install
· Size

photographs
i've posted new pics to the project server. they are of snow hallway just outside of our space and of marvin hall jury room. i apologize for the hallway pics as they are dark and not at good angles, but the hallway is really tight to photograph in. but they should suffice at least for now. let me know if there's anything else that needs to be done, either photo or survey related. thanks! amy

Code Information\Anthropometric data
I looked into what model code would apply to our little project. I believe that it is the IBC, which I posted to the project server. While this is an informed hunch I still need to verify with someone who knows for sure.
Additionally, I photocopied sheets from "THE MEASURE OF MAN AND WOMAN" which seems to be a reasonably complete source for anthropometric data. I am scanning these sheets and uploading them onto the project server.

Project name / Small Side Room
Have any 'names' for the project? Perhaps we could throw them in here... under individual comments?
When the purpose of the rooms are more defined...
I measured the small room to the side yesterday and will update the CAD dwg later today or tomorrow. j.

survey
soo..i've just finished making an Excel spreadsheet for the survey data. all that remains to be done is to compile the info into it, and to make some correlations. due to the upcoming test and the programming project, correlations will be drawn later (atleast from my end). so far, we have 109 completed and returned surveys. we plan on going to a few more studios yet, and also making an announcement in urban to the grad students since they aren't ever at marvin anymore. so far, the data gathered by the surveys is more complete than i thought it would be. some people even drew diagrams for us. it should be a great source of information for us.

Not sure what Trackback is. Any clues?
I'm going to try and see if there's a way to post photos. Some blogs have that.

Sittin in studio workin
I am still working on the &*($%^*(*^%*&()* progaming project. Hopefully I will complete my portion in time to work in the 3d model some. I have not posted my version of the model on the project server yet, but I should by tonight. We just need to incorporate what Jerry has done, as well as others into one coherent file.
I think that we should use 3dviz file formats because not very many people have access to the latest version of max. Comments?

Help
Does anyone know of any great sites that show pictures of architecture facilities? I am having a difficult time finding research. Books cease to exist:( Matt and Erin, I hope you are having better luck. Let me know in class tomorrow if you have any ideas. I have checked Avery and have found a few things.
Happy B-day Lisa, sorry I missed it.

Digital Model Stuff
Happy B-day Lisa! Sorry I couldn't make it, but I told Grabow to pour some out for his missing homey. Anyway, I'm posting this because:
1) I've never "blogged" (is that right?) before, and wanted to try it out, and;
2) I wanted to find out if anyone had any expectations for when the digital model should be finished. As I'm sure everyone knows, we have a mechanical systems test and a programming project due on Tuesday, so between that and the HOK and NBBJ interviews, I'm not going to have it done for Monday or possibly even Wednesday. I could maybe have it done by Friday, but otherwise it would be ready for sure by the 29th when we come back from break. Feel free to blog me (?) any opinions. Blog you later!
